A Calm, Judgment-Free Space for Growth

I’m Brenda!

- the trainer behind Mystic Dog Training. As someone who has suffered through depression and anxiety dog training has been the cornerstone of helping me keep myself grounded. In my opinion in order to be a great dog trainer is to learn how to be present, learn how to manage your emotions without running away from them, and finding inspiration from the animals around us to continue growing.

Dog training became more than a career for me—it became a practice in nervous system regulation, patience, and growth.

This work has given me purpose and healing, and it’s my mission to share that same gift with others: a safe, compassionate space where both dogs and people can learn, adapt, and thrive together.

My Training Philosophy

At Mystic Dog Training, there’s no one-size-fits-all formula. I have a balanced training approach where I dive heavier on the positive reinforcement side, utilize tools like slip leads, e collars, prong collars, but don’t shy away from harnesses and utilizing treats. For me it’s all about looking at the dog in front of me and adapting to what fits best for them and the owner.

Every dog is different, and every situation is unique. Some dogs need more softness, others need firmness, and many thrive with a blend of both. My role is to adapt with calm, empathy, and honesty—always keeping the relationship at the heart of the work.

I focus on:

  • Clear communication between dogs and their humans

  • Meeting biological needs through exercise, play, and structure

  • Teaching neutrality, not just obedience, so dogs can truly be with you in everyday life

  • Creating a judgment-free space where clients feel safe to ask questions and learn

A Promise to My Clients

I promise to meet you and your dog with empathy, honesty, and compassion. I promise a judgment-free space where you can learn without fear of “getting it wrong.” And I promise to keep growing as a trainer so I can give you the best tools and support possible.

Together, we’ll uncover clarity, build calm, and create the connection you’ve been searching for with your dog.
