Get to know the trainer behind Mystic Dog
Hello, Im Brenda
I'm based in Long Beach, California, and have over eight years of experience in the dog industry. My journey began at a doggy daycare, where I noticed that many dogs weren't thriving in environments that didn’t support their needs. This sparked my passion for understanding dog psychology.
In search of a better approach, I transitioned to a dog walking company. There, I discovered the positive impact of walking dogs in structured groups—fulfilling their physical needs while providing essential mental stimulation. These experiences deepened my belief in the value of mindful, intentional interaction with dogs.
To expand my knowledge, I pursued mentorships with leading experts in dog psychology, including Cheri Lucas, and shadowed other trainers whose philosophies aligned with mine. These mentorships were pivotal in shaping my approach and ultimately inspired the creation of Mystic Dog.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that dogs need clear direction from humans to thrive. It’s our responsibility to help them succeed in the human world. Through Mystic Dog, I remain committed to this principle—continuously learning and evolving to better serve the dogs and people I work with.
My Approach
My first priority is understanding and meeting our dogs' needs—ensuring they are both physically and mentally fulfilled, bringing clarity to their daily lives, and building a strong foundation of trust and respect between dog and owner.
My goal is to help owners feel confident in creating a healthy, closer bond with their pups by working together to develop a personalized game plan. I understand that building a balanced relationship takes time and effort, which is why I approach each situation with compassion and support, guiding owners every step of the way.
